  • Use licensed members only – ACSSN can provide a list of vetted members. Using unlicensed chandlers is illegal under the 1958 Act.
  • Contact through NCDMB – If you are in oil & gas, route requests through the NCDMB-ACSSN joint committee. They promote local content in marine services.
  • Attend industry forums – ACSSN participates in maritime conferences in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Warri. Network with ship agents and operators.

For Suppliers / Companies Wanting to Partner

  • Partner with a licensed member – Foreign suppliers usually partner with ACSSN members to access vessels, as direct access is restricted.
  • Supply through members – ACSSN members supply provisions, engine stores, deck stores, chemicals, spare parts, freshwater, and bonded goods.
  • Support local content – Highlight how your product/service meets Nigerian Content requirements to get preference from members.
Key Tip: The association is pushing hard against foreign domination and illegal chandling. If you are a foreign firm, the fastest way in is to form a joint venture or supply agreement with an ACSSN member.
